keeping people and their homes safe
Amber Construction worked in partnership with Enfield Council to deliver refurbishment and fire safety improvement works across four occupied high-risk residential blocks. The project was delivered in line with the requirements of the Building Safety Act (BSA) and Building Safety Regulator (BSR), with Amber becoming one of the first contractors in the UK to successfully take a high-risk building project through the newly established Gateway 2 approval process in July 2024.
Works were delivered across four 19-storey blocks, comprising 265 homes of mixed tenure, while the buildings remained fully occupied. The programme included kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, improvements to communal areas, the replacement of all fire doors and extensive fire stopping within individual dwellings. Careful planning, resident communication and coordination were central to ensuring that the works were delivered safely and effectively while minimising disruption to residents.
Amber have successfully secured four Gateway 3 Completion Certificates. This represented a significant achievement and reflected the dedication, expertise and collaborative effort of everyone involved throughout the project. Securing the Gateway 3 Completion Certificates demonstrated Amber’s commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant and safe projects that met the highest industry standards.
