Amber Construction were appointed by Lewisham Council to deliver a programme of external refurbishment works at Brindishe Manor Primary School. The project comprised the removal and replacement of the existing windows with modern uPVC double-glazed units, significantly enhancing energy efficiency, thermal performance and long-term durability. The works also included the replacement of the existing asbestos roof, ensuring full compliance with safety standards and providing a robust, future-proof solution.

Minimising disruption to the school was a key priority throughout the project. To achieve this, all works were carefully scheduled and completed during school holiday periods. This approach required close coordination and strict adherence to challenging deadlines, all of which were successfully met through detailed planning and effective project management.

By scheduling the most intrusive elements of the works during the school holidays, Amber Construction significantly reduced the risks typically associated with working on an active school site.

Clear and consistent communication with the school was a key priority throughout the project, with daily updates provided to keep all informed of progress and to address any queries promptly. Close liaison with the school’s caretakers was also maintained, ensuring regular site updates supported smooth project delivery and minimised disruption to school staff and pupils.
